The 2025 Le Défi Inter-Alliances returns with a special edition focusing on the Francophonie!

Join us to represent the Alliance Française de Sydney in this exciting competition centered around French and Francophone culture, competing against learners from Alliances Françaises worldwide for a chance to win an unforgettable trip to Nice.

The competition takes place in 4 stages, with different prizes each time.

• Local selection:

Thursday 17 April at 12pm online
First prize: A conversation course for 1 session in 2025, Second prize: a gift voucher for one of our partners

• National selection:

Saturday 3 May, TBC
Gift voucher worth $300 to be used in a Sydney French restaurant

• Geographical zone selection:

Saturday 24 May
Trip to Nice to participate in the international final

• International final:

21 July for a week in Nice

It is an online trivia quiz in French, organised by the Alliances Françaises network around the world. In a nutshell: a fun way to practise your French, to test your knowledge of French culture, and to proudly represent Sydney & Australia in an international competition!

You want to participate? 

- Be a current student or be enrolled in a course at the Alliance Française de Sydney
- Be over 18 years old when registering to the competition.
- Have a minimum level of A2.
